Smoky Mountain Air was born from a shared passion for quality service and a deep-rooted commitment to our East Tennessee community. Our story begins in 1998, when we started as independent contractors, handling residential and light commercial heating and cooling jobs. These early projects allowed us to hone our skills, establish a strong work ethic, and understand the true value of exceptional customer service.

In 2006, I took a significant step forward by joining the maintenance team for Monroe County Schools as a service technician. For over a decade, I worked diligently on a wide variety of HVAC systems—from standard residential setups to complex commercial units. This period was instrumental in expanding my expertise and preparing me to meet diverse HVAC challenges with confidence and competence.

Our Journey

After more than ten years with Monroe County Schools, my son and I decided it was time to embark on a new venture together. With over 100 years of combined residency in this beautiful community, we saw firsthand the growing need for a reliable and trustworthy HVAC company. We were motivated by the frustration many of our local friends expressed about existing HVAC services. Too often, they encountered companies that would prematurely declare their units irreparable, pushing costly new systems that weren’t always affordable or necessary.

Determined to make a difference, we founded Smoky Mountain Air to offer honest, high-quality HVAC solutions tailored to our neighbors' needs. Our mission was simple: to provide dependable service, extend the life of existing systems, and ensure every customer felt valued and respected. Many times, we’ve been able to repair and rejuvenate units that others deemed beyond repair, saving our customers both time and money while enhancing their comfort at home or work.
